Bangalore is not only 'The city of gardens', but also is 'The tech-capital of India'. A new generation of researchers are being trained in one of its tree-studded streets at Microsoft Research Center. Steaming with hot coffee and genius minds, the center assures of India being the right place for any kind of research and development. The center is staffed with 60 full time researchers, many of them being PhD from top universities in the United States. The center is carrying out research in seven areas including 'mobility' and 'cryptography'. It has successfully developed a popular tool for Microsoft's new search engine, Bing.
Bing allows the searches for locations with complete or even 'incomplete' addresses. The director of a research unit at the center, B. Ashok said that the innovation would never have sprouted if the R&D had been done in United States. Its research was completely inspired by the Indian environment.
