Fashion accessories are the additional items which gratify one's personality apart fom general clothing and footwear. These may be used on any part of the body and are made up of a variety of materials, such as; jewelry, gloves, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, stockings, bow tie, leg warmer, leggings, necktie, suspenders, adult diapers and tights.
Not only the accessories add color, style and class to an outfit, and create an extraordinary look, but they are equally useful too. Handbags may be used to carry several objects, hats protect the face from sunny weather and gloves are used to warm the hands.
Different accessories are used as external visual symbols of religious or cultural affiliation: Crucifixes, Jewish stars, Islamic head scarves (burka), skullcaps and turbans are common examples. Designer labels on accessories are perceived as an indicator of social status.
